Since 2019 Cristiano Menegazzo is the principal percussionist and timpanist of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra I Orquesta Sinfónica de Amberes with which he has participated in world tours and has played in the most prestigious halls with renowned conductors.

Cristiano Menegazzo

Cristiano Menegazzo began studying percussion at a very young age. After graduating at the Conservatory of Frosinone (Italy) in 2011 with the professor Antonio Caggiano, he started freelancing with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome playing under the baton of world famous conductors such as: Antonio Pappano, Valery Gergiev, Daniel Harding, Kirill Petrenko and many others.

In 2014 he got a Master degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Nick Woud, Mark Braafhart and Gustavo Gimeno.
During his studies he became a member of the Italian Youth Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester where he played with Riccardo Muti, Christoph Eschenbach, Herbert Blomstedt, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Krzysztof Urbański, Gianandrea Noseda.

He has also collaborated with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orkest, Orchestra del Teatro dell’opera di Roma, Opera di Firenze, Orchestra Haydn, Orchestra Toscanini, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Alma Mahler Kammerorchester.
In 2016 he won the timpani position in the Italian Army Band and shortly after he became percussionist of the Financial Police Band of Italy.
